Immigration Bill

The Immigration Bill is being voted on in the Senate sometime today (June 27th) or tomorrow (June 28th). This bill is expected to pass the Senate but is likely to get stalled in the House, so those who want the bill to pass (or not) can find their Representative’s contact information here

If passed, this bill will:

  • Provide a pathway to citizenship for over 11 million undocumented immigrants
  • Increase the H1-B work visa cap from 65,000 a year to 110,000
  • Add 20,000 additional border control agents and 700 miles of walls along the US-Mexico border
  • Create an “agricultural guest worker program” for farm workers so their presence is not reliant on current immigration quotas
  • Require businesses to check the status of all job applicants

There is a lot of misinformation going around, so please feel free to edit this with additional information.
